The beauty of a storm is difficult not to admire; its power, raw potential, and uniqueness. And what about the approach of a storm? The anticipation, the pressure, the gloominess. How can something that evokes such anxiety conclude with something so soothing and captivating?
The Storm Approaches delves into the different phases leading up to the culmination and resolution, as well as the emotional reactions involved.

With no light passing through the dense clouds,
A bleak grey creating this ominous shroud,
Blacks and whites wash away the vibrance of life,
Like a feeling of turmoil and strife,
The heaviness fills the air all around,
Incoming, it must be stormbound.
The darkness grows and grows,
Closer and closer comes the squall,
None of us can oppose,
The ominous and all-encompassing shawl.
The first few drops hit the ground,
A single desire, to be earthbound,
A miracle of nourishment from just a tiny pill,
Dents and divots in the soil, so many to fill,
Seeping in around the roots,
Offering the stems the chance to bear fruits.
The darkness grows and grows,
Ever approaching comes the hour,
What will turn out, no one knows,
Unbridled and endless potential power.
Distant rumbles echo and collide,
The water falls heavy, terrified,
Droplets beat down to the ground,
As a drum, a harmony of sound,
Merging and pooling, growing to a great amalgamation,
Life builds in this manifestation.
The darkness grows and grows,
It’s almost here, almost on top,
And the wind howls as it blows,
The roaring thunder just won’t stop.
Darks and greys flash brilliant whites,
The hidden heavens in the sky battle and fight,
Lightning cuts through the monochrome tones,
Only interrupted by the thunder’s groans.
The darkness grows and grows,
When will the storm come to a close?
Let me give you a revelation to ponder in bed,
This is only happening in your head,
A storm raging in a tiny space,
Always ready for your consciousness to embrace.
The darkness grows and grows,
When will it brighten? Only your mind knows.
