Encouraging your mind to explore new ways of thinking, beyond your comfort zone, is a valuable practice that everyone should experiment with. It allows you to consider perspectives that may have previously eluded you. This is particularly crucial for writers, as it prevents them from becoming stagnated and producing predictable content.

I used the same process as last time and took screenshots of the word assigned as well as the remaining time once I got to a completion point I was happy with.

If you haven't read my previous 10 minute writing exercise, I would suggest you take a look at that before reading this as it will give more context to the process I am using for these exercises.

Simon sat at the desk, small parts scattered across its surface. Coffee stains adorned the still visible areas, creating, small, dark and slightly sticky spots. He didn’t notice the mess, getting the radio working again was all that mattered. Sarah would come in occasionally and ask how he could find anything amongst the chaos, but he’d always reply that he liked it that way. It made sense to him and he could always find what he needed.

None of that mattered though, he was so close. Just a little soldering left to go and some calibration and he’ll be able to find it again. The desk lamp flickered as the soldering iron heated, evidence of him using far too much power for the circuit to take. The small plumes of smoke let off by the soldering flux always gave him some satisfaction, he didn’t know why, it was just one of those things. He frantically worked on the last couple of wires, managing to touch the tip of the iron in the process and letting out a yelp, It will be worth it though.

Two wires later it was done, all working again. The moment of truth, he thought to himself, with an apprehensive breath in. He flicked the switch and was greeted with light static for a few seconds, before, there it was, the transmission. He had found it, everything was going to be alright.
